This blog post is gonna be quite interesting. I’m going to write words ABOUT words. What? hahaha.
Maybe you read my last blog post, maybe you didn’t — but this past weekend my pal, Ally, and I went to Atlanta. We stumbled upon this cute, lil shop that had quotes hanging all over the walls. I was going to include this store in my last blog post, but something told me not to.
So here I am, giving these quotes their glory.
This quote is my favorite. I posted it every where.
Literally. Every. Where.
These words just echo through my brain. Audrey and I must have the same brain. I’m sure of it. Senior quote 4 SURE!!!
I think about this specific quote a lot now. It’s crazy how a framed poster could hold so much impact on my life. On others lives. On life in general. >> Attitudes, man. It’s a toughy. When struggles happen, when the fight calls, when that one girl wont stop dragging you down, when your life seems to be falling apart — What do you do? Sometimes we can’t do anything. We can’t change our circumstances in some situations, BUT we CAN change our ATTITUDES. This is where ‘choosing joy’ has become such a vital part of my day. This world is filled to the rim with darkness, problems, evil, etc::: but if we pay close attention to our attitudes — HOW WE ACT. HOW WE RESPOND in those situations, it changes everything. Our hearts become filled with love + positivity.
This quote reminds me of dancing in fields watching the sunset. This life is sooooo short. It goes by so fast. We spend so much time preparing for the future. Planning the days ahead, and suddenly you look back on all the days and moments you missed out on because you were too busy planning.
Ugh. I struggle with this.
We only get one life. Only one. We don’t get a ‘redo’ button and we don’t get to ‘draw again.’ This is all we’ve got, ya’ll. So what is stopping you? Tell your best friends you love them and have random adventures. Kiss the boy you wanna kiss. Tell the girl on Instagram you think she’s pretty.
I wanna live a foolish life. I don’t want to have any regrets, or go home after that evening and think to myself, “man, if I just would’ve done this.” NO. JUST DO IT.
So here is my mental promise to myself. I’m gonna live a brave, and foolish life. I’m going to run and run and run straight towards adventure, and I’m gonna dive head first into a beautiful life. I hope you join me.
I hope as you walk through life you have the eyes to spot the magic. I hope, and pray that you can find the greatest secrets in a dark world. These words calm me. They showered me with peace over my soul. Magic can only be found if you have the eyes to spot it.
Believe in magic. Most importantly, believe in the magic in yourself.
Lastly, this one. OoooOOOooOoo so good. The same words that Robert A. Ward spoke I wish over you. Read it over and over, friend.
I hope all of these quote stung your heart in the most beauiful way.
I stood in this store reading these words and tears welled up in my eyes. All of these writers knew how to write to girl like me. I hope you loved them as much as I did.
